christmas eve

what a night! here i am, stuck in my rental room with my friend. we did not go out and have some fun, since we do not have a transport. such a lame and boring way to celebrate christmas. (=.=!!!)
i heard before that people tends to feel more lonely when it come to festivals. some will usually gather with their family members and friends on these day. but, some may feel lonely and have nothing special to do. i am kind of in the latter situation right now...

flashing back, i remember how we used to celebrate christmas in my hometown. we did not have much to do during the eve, but things are busy on christmas day. we would sleep early and woke up 5.30 in the morning since we only have one bathroom in each house. it was an old shop house in a small "cowboy" town. when everyone is ready by 7.00am, we begin our car ride to the next town which is an 1 hour journey.
reaching the church around 8.00am, we went for the services, reciting the hymns, listening to the father preaching, and some performances by children from the sunday school. usually there will be a few baptism ceremonies on that day. the service ends in about 2 hours. we were given some nicely wrapped tokens from the church. children usually get snacks and stationary while adults get mugs with cover. i used to get chocolate coated biscuits, pencil box, and other kind of snacks. my siblings and i do barter trades when we get home. after gifts giving, we head for a lunch buffet. the main event of the day for me. they have been changing the venues and foods from time to time, but it was always delicious. yummy...
after some decent meals, we head back home and return to our normal life. watching interesting, sometime boring tv programmes or just fooling around. but, since we have astro now, it should be much better compared to years back then. sometimes, my parents will bring us to shopping malls for some entertainments.
what i miss most about christmas is celebrating it with both my grandparents, but they past away since my secondary schools years. may God bless their souls always with love and peace.

unfortunately, here i am right now. hundred of kilometres away from my nostalgic hometown. my friends and i were supposed to go portugese settlement there but the trip was cancel (T.T) however, i plan to treat myself to a nice meal tomorrow. may it be a nice breezy day.
finally, i wish all my families and friends merry christmas and a happy new year. may it be full of joy and harmony. have fun and take care. i am not a christian actually, but i still enjoy celebrating christmas.
